Potentiodynamic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy provides extraction of potential-dependent space charge layer capacitance
from potentiodynamic impedance spectra of non-stationary semiconductor–electrolyte interface. The new technique has been applied
for acquisition of Mott-Schottky plots of cathodically treated TiO2 anodic films. Cathodic treatment in 1 M H2SO4 increases donor density and flat band potential of TiO2. Freshly doped films show hysteresis in the space charge layer capacitance in cyclic potential scans. The subsequent cycling
eliminates the hysteresis but preserves the greater part of the doping effect.

A β-glucosidase (EC 3.2.1.21) from Flavobacterium meningosepticum has been purified and characterized. Purity was enhanced at least 530-fold from crude cell extract with 16.6% yield. The estimated molecular mass of the purified enzyme is 150 kDa by gel filtration and 78 kDa by SDS-PAGE. This dimeric enzyme has a pI = 9.0 and an optimal activity at pH 5.0 and temperature of 50 °C. Divalent metal ions (Hg2+, Cu2+, Ca2+, Mg2+) and EDTA have negligible effect on the enzyme activity. The enzyme exhibited a high specificity on the glycon portion of aryl-β-D -glycosides. NMR spectroscopy revealed the enzyme catalyzed hydrolysis of p-nitrophenyl-β-D -glucopyranoside with the retention of anomeric configuration, indicating that a double displacement mechanism was involved. A preliminary study of the Bronsted relationship showed a concave-downward plot, which is consistent with the two-step mechanism. 相似文献

Molecular-scale electronics has now been enriched by the discovery that molecules, studied singly by scanning tunneling spectroscopy, or a large array of those molecules, studied in parallel as a Langmuir-Blodgett monolayer between metal electrodes, exhibit rectification, i.e., an asymmetric current as a function of applied voltage.This asymmetry can come, first, from work function differences between two dissimilar metals or the metal-molecule interfaces (Schottky barriers), second from an asymmetric placement of the chromophore between the two metal electrodes, and third, from an asymmetry of the molecular orbitals of the molecule.This third, electronic origin of rectification, first proposed by Aviram and Ratner in 1974, and confirmed in the work reported here, gives us hope that, not too many years from now, molecules can form the basis of ultra-small yet ultra-fast electronic devices and integrated circuits. 相似文献

The progress of high temperature processes is generally described in terms of variation of the degree of conversion () with time (t). The present paper outlines a procedure for making use of-t plots for comparative assessment of productivity and energy requirements for a test system with respect to a reference, on the basis of some simplifying assumptions. It is assumed that the throughput is inversely proportional to reaction time as in the case of batch reactors and plug flow reactors. It is also assumed that the energy requirement is a simple function of process temperature. The principles outlined is illustrated with reference to some laboratory data for reduction of iron oxide by coal.The authors wish to thank Prof. P. R. Response surface methodology was used for predicting the optimal composition of vegetable oil and carbon black in rubber compounding. Central composite rotatable design for two variables at five levels was chosen as the experimental design. The data obtained from measurement of properties was fitted as a two variable second order equation and were plotted as contour plots using programme developed in MATLAB v.5. It is observed from the contour plots that the increase in cross-link density caused by the formation of rubber mono-layer from its multi-layer on increasing the carbon black loading upto the central point (50 phr) of experimental region increases 300% modulus and elongation at break and reduces the ultimate properties like tear strength and tensile strength. On the other-hand hardness increases with increase in solid inclusion of carbon black. From the contours it is observed that the addition of vegetable oil upto 2-3 phr, cross-link density increases due to its coupling action leading to increase in hardness and modulus and lowering of ultimate properties like tensile strength and elongation at break. Addition of further amount of vegetable oil shows less coupling and more plasticising effect leading to increase in tear strength, tensile strength and elongation at break and decrease in hardness and 300% modulus. 相似文献

CoYbxFe2-xO4 (x = 0.00, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075, 0.10) spinel ferrites were synthesized by co-precipitation technique. Structural, dielectric and magnetic properties were measured. X-ray diffraction analysis showed that all the prepared spinel ferrites possessed cubic spinel structure. Dielectric constant, AC conductivity and dielectric loss decreased with the addition of rare earth ions. The impedance analysis explained the role of grains and grain boundaries with in prepared samples. Cole-Cole plots helped to measure the values of grains and grain boundary's resistance. The magnetic properties proved the soft nature of these ferrites. Saturation magnetization and remanence decreased while coercivity was enhanced with the addition of ytterbium concentration. All these parameters suggested that these prepared samples might be suitable for high frequency applications. 相似文献

ABSTRACTThe current study reveals the synthesis of polymer appended Calix[4]amidocrown-5 with specific binding affinity for iodide at ppm-level. The low detection limits are observed via UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. The time-dependent solution and solid-state 127I NMR studies with 18.8 and 19 ppm shifts, indicate a strong sensing nature of resin towards iodide ion. A significant reduction in surface area and pore volume with higher thermostability of resin after iodide uptake indicated iodide inclusion in the amidocrown cavity. The mechanism of iodide sensing may be governed by noncovalent interactions of NH and OH protons present in amidocrown and phenyl ring as observed in terms of emission enhancement in fluorescence spectroscopy. The binding affinity and stoichiometric determinations are determined by Benesi-Hildebrand and Jobs plots, respectively. 相似文献

In this study, the retention behavior of selected hydrophobic and polar bases on a minimally modified silica hydride phase was investigated. From these results and the associated retention plots, significant differences in the chromatographic dependencies of these two classes of basic compounds were evident. The polar bases exhibited strong retention with mobile phases of high organic solvent content, but displayed weak retention with mobile phases of high water content. In contrast, the hydrophobic bases showed “U‐shape” retention dependencies, indicative of the interplay of both RP and normal‐phase retention characteristics. These studies have demonstrated that hydrophobic and polar bases can be simultaneously separated on the same column either under typical RP‐like or aqueous normal‐phase‐like conditions, respectively, with distinctive selectivity. Finally, the effects of temperature on the RP and aqueous normal phase modality of separations with these analytes were investigated, where discrete changes in retention behavior were also observed. 相似文献
